Welcome to the Songwriter Fund
Thanks to a generous donation of resources from Sony Music Publishing and SONA, and their expressed vision of helping songwriters and composers in need, we were able to create a fund that will distribute small emergency grants of $1000 to qualified songwriters who have suffered work cancellation and other financial losses as result of the coronavirus pandemic. Since our inception, even more generous donors have assisted us in supporting songwriters everywhere struggling through pandemic closures.
Our community is being hit hard right now and we are very grateful to be in a position to help. The grants can be allocated toward areas where they are needed most, including rent, food and healthcare.
The application is only available online. Songwriter Fund grants are $1000 grants made to individual songwriters/composers living and working in North America. These grants are intended to fulfill a gap in a songwriter’s income that exists due to coronavirus preventative measures taken by the individual or their employer. One-time grants will be made available to professional songwriters and composers who meet the following requirements:
Be a professional songwriter or composer with two (2) years of experience writing or composing in the United States.
Must be registered with a PRO
Must be 18+
Must be an individual (Individual people may submit applications for a funding opportunity on their own behalf (i.e., not on behalf of a company, organization, institution, or government))

The Songwriter Fund is one of only two funds set up to directly care for our songwriting community in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is through the continued support from many wonderful friends like you that the the Songwriter Fund is able to fulfill its mission of providing much needed relief to songwriters.
Our Partners
The Songwriter Fund came out of a group that was founded as a trade organization to help songwriters through challenges in a changing music industry. However, we could have never known what was coming and the challenges that we see today are unrivaled.
With live music venues and studios closed, so many of us are throwing our hands up unable to understand what the next move is. How to pay rent, attain healthcare and just simply break even.
In the midst of these difficult times, we have to act fast and focus on what is important. Our music community is in dire need of immediate support and these generous donors have rushed to fill a vital need for immediate relief.
